| COMMENTS Liberty Taproom and Grill is located in an up-scale shopping area along King's Highway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is the extension of the Liberty Brewery in downtown Myrtle Beach. They serve the brewery's signature beers, but the beers are not made on-site. The standard tap beers from Liberty Brewery served here are the MISS LIBERTY LAGER, UNFILTERED WHEAT, RASPBERRY WHEAT, ROCKETS RED ALE, INDIA PALE ALE, NUT BROWN, and WHITE ALE. These beers are priced at $3.50 for a pint; $4 for 20 oz; and $10 for a pitcher. 26 other beers are also available and these are primarily American Craft Beers. Bottled beers generally cost $3.00 - $3.50. One specialty beer is a Chimay for $4.75. The Liberty Tap Room offers 28 different wines. House wines cost $4.75 a glass while others vary from $6 - $10 a glass. Sparking wines are $5.25; Martini's $6.50; Specialty Cocktails $6; and frozen drinks vary from $7 - $7.50. I felt the food prices were reasonable, particularly given the expense of the building this bar and grill is in. Appetizers vary from $3 - $10; Sandwiches from $7 - 9; Chicken & Ribs $10 - 17; Steaks $17 - $21; Seafood $13 - 19; and pasta $11 - $13. The Liberty Taproom was very new when we visited. It was quiet and sterile; the kind of place you go to in order to celebrate an anniversary because you don't want to be bothered by anyone else talking to you or having any noise disrupt your special time. The staff didn't talk to us and we even had difficulty ordering. In an empty place, it was amazing how many glasses still needed to be shined when there were customers waiting to order. The food prices seemed reasonable, but obviously those prices are more than off-set by the drink costs. It doesn't take many glasses of wine at $6 - $10 each to bring your tab up. The Taproom has reached out to a special customer nitch and in Myrtle Beach there are many that have the financial means to visit here on a regular basis. This place definitely has the quality in the building, drink selection, and food options. But, until I have a special anniversary to celebrate, and have the time to wait on the staff, I will pass.
