| COMMENTS Foothills Brewery is a MUST-STOP when traveling through this area. Although I have visited many breweries around the world, this is the best micro-brewery I have found. They have a long list of regular beers on tap and I found each flawless. This brewery has a thriving business in providing the city taverns and restaurants with beer in addition to its on-site restaurant and beer-sales. They plan to open a bottling works in the near future. My enthusiasm is not only about the beer. The environment or "social" atmosphere was also excellent. We met several people from the community that were quick to talk with us and help us understand some of the changes going on in the community and with the brewery. Al even noted that the building was once a Ford Dealership where his father worked. Folk tunes were being played by a neighborhood group that gets together weekly to perform (jam) at the brewery. With excellent beer, great neighborhood support, and a growing business, this is an important stop along your route. Walt - 08/03/2008 |
